Worship 
The worship ministries of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church continues to build upon a rich heritage of excellence. Music is a very important tool in our worship and we use a wide variety of worship and music resources for leading the people of God into His presence.
We are committed to grow and expand our worship ministry and we need others to join us. We consider it a joy to serve as part of a ministry team and we have many various opportunities for you to serve in our ministry as well. Whether you sing or play an instrument, enjoy acting, making costumes, running video cameras, or have music leadership experience, there is a place for you to serve. Simply come to one of our rehearsals or give our music office a call. We would love to visit with you!
WORSHIP MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:
Sanctuary Choir - leads in Sunday morning worship with a variety of traditional and modern worship music as well as special music and drama events like Christmas on First Street and FBC's Spring Musical. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the choir room.
FBC Orchestra - leads instrumental music in Sunday morning worship as well as special worship events. Participation limited to intermediate and advanced-level high school, college, and adult players. Rehearsals are Sundays, 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 4:15-5:15 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Xtreme Praise and Made for Praise - these are our school-aged and preschool choirs which meet September through May on Sunday nights, 5:15-7:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Xtreme Praise sings regularly in Sunday morning worship, local care centers, and special events like the Texas State Forest Festival. In the spring, our children's choirs usually prepare and present a musical. SummerSing is a week-long event during the summer months which draws 1st-6th grade children from the whole community and beyond. Children spend their day learning music and dialogue, making props, having recreational fun, and going on a field trip every day like swimming, the movies, skating, etc. At the end of the week they present their musical for family and friends.
