Andy grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi but married a Texas girl (Shauna) and moved to Texas as fast as he could. Andy and Shauna have three children: Collin, Nathan and JoEllen. Shauna is a private music teacher (voice) and is very involved with the children’s choir at First Baptist Church.
Andy holds degrees from Mississippi College (B.A.) and the George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University (M.Div. and D.Min.), where he was a member of the first graduating class in 1997. His doctoral work focused on biblical preaching in a postmodern context.
Since 1990, Andy has served churches in Mississippi and Texas as pastor, university minister and youth minister.

What do you like most about serving Lufkin's FBC?
I love the way our church has been committed to missions. This has been our
legacy for 125 years and continues to be our strength. In Lufkin, I have
had opportunities to work with three mission churches (La Casa del Alfarero,
Cross Timbers Cowboy Church and New Beginnings Baptist Church) and to work
with HIV / AIDS orphans in Ethiopia through our partnership with Buckner
International.
