First Baptist Church of Lufkin

James has been serving in various ministries for the past 16 years.  He was born and raised in East Texas, but also spent 11 years in New Orleans, La.  He graduated from East Texas Baptist University, as well as New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  During his time in New Orleans, he met his beautiful wife Lori Lea and daughters Rebecca and Elizabeth.  James is a hobby junkie with interests including coin collecting, stamp collecting, gardening, traveling, sports, fitness, metal detecting, golf, guitar, and according to his wife the list goes on and on.  "My goal in children's ministry is to walk alongside the parents and kids, seeking together to live in the 'fullness of life' that comes from a relationship with Jesus."

Favorite food?
I used to break a sweat just eating a bag of doritos, but
after 11 years in New Orleans, I love me some cajun spicy
food. Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo, etouffee, it's all good!
and you gotta have some bread pudding

Favorite Movie?
after all these years, it's still "ET"

Favorite Music?
I'm pretty ecclectic...not much that I can't appreciate

Most embarassing moment?
I had a huge crush on my kindergarten teacher and I was a little embarassed when I was the first one in the class to get sent out for a paddling.

Favorite vacation destination?
I've only been there once, but I can't wait to go back to Hawaii....Costa Rica is a close second...Mexico is always fun...somewhere in the mountains in a log cabin...New Orleans is good too!

It's your day off....what are you doing?
probably working out, cutting the grass, hanging out on facebook, walking my dogs, maybe golf every now and then, just relaxing and enjoying life.

The thing you most like about serving at Lufkin's FBC...
Lufkin's FBC is a great church, great children's workers, great kids, friendly people, a great pastor, it's all good!
